JUNCTION CITY, Calif. — Junction City lies on Trinity Transit’s Highway 299 bus corridor, allowing riders to connect with Weaverville and communities farther west toward Willow Creek. The county transit program identifies Junction City among communities served by its intercity routes, while the 2026 short-range transit plan lists a sheltered stop at Junction City Café.
Check the timetable, not just the stop
The county publishes weekday eastbound and westbound schedules for the Weaverville–Willow Creek line. There is generally no weekend service and no service on county-observed holidays. Riders should verify the current bus direction, the named stop and whether a connection continues to Redding or Humboldt County. Some stops may be request-only, and Trinity Transit warns that safe roadside boarding depends on road conditions.
Passengers can call 530-623-5438 for the latest information on the stop, accommodations and transfer opportunities. Its systemwide guidance says buses are ADA-accessible and equipped with bicycle racks on a first-come basis. Service animals are allowed, while small pets must be confined to appropriate carriers.
What a shelter does—and does not—guarantee
Planning records identify the Junction City Café location as having both a bench and a shelter. These facilities offer some protection while waiting, but they do not guarantee a bus arrives at an unscheduled time, a seat is available, or the stop is open following road damage. Confirm current transit alerts and Highway 299 conditions before a trip.
Residents with medical appointments or limited time should plan the return connection before leaving Junction City, especially when transferring to another operator.
